My name is Robert F. Hunt but most people know me as Bob. I graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. I served as general counsel for SEIU Local 721 for 20 years. I am now in private practice as a solo practitioner.
I am a member of the Labor and Employment Sections of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and State Bar. I volunteer with the county bar’s Domestic Violence Project as well as a lay minister at my parish church. I was a member of the statewide Commission on Local Governance for the 21st Century, whose report led to a substantial rewrite of the statute governing Local Agency Formation Commissions.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the State Bar. Given the diversity of our attorneys it can be difficult to achieve consensus on how to best achieve our goals and objectives. I would work to ensure that the State Bar operates efficiently and in the best interests of attorneys. I believe my skills and temperament can contribute to building the necessary consensus on the board. My labor background will also be valuable as we try to build a coalition to support court funding and fair treatment of the bar.
The Board of Trustees must also promote the interest of our profession to the Legislature, the Supreme Court and the public. I will work hard to foster a positive image for our legal community. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or concerns.
