Department: Chief Trial Counsel / Investigation
Description: The IS supervises others who investigate complaints of attorney misconduct filed by the general public, courts and other entities. The IS directs, supervises, and collaborates, with other investigators who collect evidence to support allegations, researches case and statutory laws, interviews witnesses, and works with prosecutors to determine an appropriate course of action. Must have 5 years investigation experience in a similar capacity and knowledge of techniques & procedures of investigations, legal analysis, rules of evidence, court procedures, methods to locate persons, effective interviewing techniques, excellent written/verbal communication, organizational, and computer and case management skills, and at least two years of supervisory experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field that develops skills related to investigation; minimum five (5) years experience in an investigative position; minimum two (2) years supervisory experience, which may be included in the previous qualification; must be bondable, have valid California driver's license, and immediate, unlimited access to an automobile; proof of automobile insurance coverage will be required at the time of employment; successful completion of the State Bar validated standard tests for the position; accomplished computer keyboarding skills.
Annual Salary Range: $79,920.00 - $105,228.00

Department: Chief Trial Counsel
Description: Under general direction, the legal secretary performs complex and specialized legal secretarial duties in the Office of the Chief Trial Counsel. Support multiple attorneys and perform other administrative duties as regularly assigned. Must be able to multi-task, possess excellent communication skills (written and oral), and maintain effective working relationships. Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures (including e-filing) in state, federal, and appellate courts. Experience with California Supreme Court filing procedures a plus. Excellent word processing skills (highly proficient with Word and Microsoft Outlook). Experienced with generating Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents using Word; and ability to format documents with Word-generated styles. Responsible for filings and courtesy copies from beginning to end. Knowledge in calendaring, excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills. Must be well organized, able to prioritize (i.e. maintaining files, documents and timelines), and meet deadlines.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and Minimum two (2) years post-secondary education and Minimum two (2) years directly relevant legal secretarial experience or two (2) years secretarial experience, at least one year of which has been in a legal environment or Minimum four (4) years directly relevant legal secretarial experience including equivalent work experience in a position which requires performance of tasks similar to the major duties and responsibilities of the position and Accomplished computer keyboarding skills and Successful completion of the State Bar validated standard tests for the position.
Annual Salary Range: $54,120.00 - $72,108.00
