ATTORNEY ADDRESS CHANGE
Please go to My State Bar Profile to update your address of record.
California Rule of Court 9.7 now makes it a requirement to use My State Bar Profile as the means to report changes to your contact information, as well as to provide and maintain a private e-mail address for State Bar communications. The benefits of updating your address electronically include faster updating to our database (usually within one business day), no chance that your request will get lost in the mail, and the confirmation e-mail that will be sent to you.
If you are a first-time user, call the Member Services Center at 1-888-800-3400 for your initial Access Code. Returning users should simply logon to My State Bar Profile with their password and follow the prompts within the section called "Membership Record." If you forget your password, click on "Forget your password?" and follow the prompts so that it can be reset. If you have any difficulty, please contact the Member Services Center.
Please be reminded that California Business & Professions Code Section 6002.1 requires that you maintain a current address with The State Bar of California and notify us of a new address within 30 days of any change. Be aware that as your official address of record it will be subject to public disclosure and will be posted on the State Bar's website.
Please note that online changes through an individual member's My State Bar Profile will not also automatically update our registered law corporation and limited liability partnership records. If you are a shareholder and officer of a law corporation, or an authorized partner in a limited liability partnership, and your individual address change also constitutes a change for the law corporation or LLP, please also send a separate written request to: Member Services Center, Law Corporation/LLP Unit, 180 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94105.
Questions? Please contact the Member Services Center at 1-888-800-3400 or email@example.com.
