To apply for the Law Office Study Program (LOS), you must fulfill the same requirements for pre-legal education that apply to students who attend law school. You must have completed at least two years of college work, or show equivalent intellectual achievement by attaining a score of 50 or higher on specified College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations, as detailed on the College Equivalency Education webpage.
To apply for the LOS Program, you must register as a law student with the State Bar’s Office of Admissions, stating your intent to study in the LOS Program. Within 30 days of beginning your legal studies within a law office or judge’s chamber, you must also submit the LOS application in the Applicant Portal.
