In order to ensure greater access for California residents, many of the State Bar’s resources are available in the top five languages other than English that are used in our state (as identified in the Judicial Council of California strategic plan for language access).
The State Bar’s multilingual Contact Center (800-843-9053) offers interpretation in over 200 languages for people who need to file a misconduct complaint against an attorney.
The State Bar of California’s mission is to protect the public and includes the primary functions of licensing, regulation and discipline of attorneys. You can file a complaint of attorney misconduct with the State Bar. Filing a complaint is free. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen to file a complaint, and the State Bar will not ask about your citizenship or immigration status.
The State Bar of California protects the public through licensing, regulation and discipline of attorneys and by supporting greater access to the legal system.
